About Miranda
Hey! My name is Miranda and I’m a photographer in Atlanta, Georgia.
I arrived at film school in LA with an impressive resume and big dreams. I left feeling disillusioned by the commercialism of Hollywood and decided to change directions. I spent the next decade working as a nanny and family manager and loved it. Connecting with people in their spaces was so fulfilling for me. When it was time for me to step away from childcare I found myself being drawn back to my camera but not being ready to leave that deeply connected human work behind.
That’s why this job is so special to me - I love people. I’ve always loved people. Each one of us is so immeasurably lucky to be alive, to be human. Of every living thing in the universe, you got to be you?! Amazing. You are you! When I meet a new client, I tell them to give me their “dating profile” before we work together so I can learn some fun things about them.
Here’s my dating profile; I’m someone who loves going to a movie theater at 2 PM on a Tuesday. Someone who throws a mean themed party. Once I even made false ceilings for my entire condo for a birthday party. Yeah… I am someone who loves reading fiction but avoids it sometimes because of the inevitable post-book blues, so I read medieval textbooks instead - I already know how they end. I am someone who lives and works to travel but who also cries over leaving my cats every single time. I’m a homebody and an adventurer. I believe that everybody should sing, even if it’s off-key.
I am so many things, just as every person is so many things. When I look at the list above of things that make me who I am, they are all drenched in storytelling. It would truly and genuinely bring me immense joy to tell your story, to witness who you are and turn it into something you can reflect on or share with loved ones and descendants through the indelible art of photography.
